IBISS KTT Team Explores the University of Lisbon Innovation Ecosystem to Strengthen Knowledge Transfer

As part of the activities under Work Package 5 of the STRIMHealth project titled Enhancing the Innovative Potential of IBISS, three members of the IBISS Knowledge and Technology Transfer (KTT) Team, Dr. Mirjana Mihailović, Dr. Danijela Vojnović Milutinović, and Dr. Marijana Skorić, visited Lisbon from 11 to 13 March 2026.

During this three-day visit, the IBISS representatives engaged in a series of meetings with colleagues from the University of Lisbon Technology Transfer Office and Tec Labs TTO, as well as their respective innovation support units. In addition, they met with a representative of the Funding & Innovation Office (FIO) at the Gulbenkian Institute for Molecular Medicine (GIMM). A special part of the visit included meetings with three start-ups founded by researchers from ULisboa: LxBio, TargTex, and Unicage. The main goal was to exchange best practices in knowledge transfer and intellectual property management, and to learn from their experience, particularly how they identified and overcame various obstacles and challenges in building successful innovation and technology transfer systems.
Thanks to the openness of the exchange and the high quality of the dialogue, these meetings proved to be a particularly valuable experience for the IBISS KTT Team. The knowledge gained will be disseminated within IBISS and more broadly across academic community in Serbia, contributing to the further development of institutional capacities in innovation and technology transfer.

Overall, the visit generated new ideas, strengthened professional connections, and laid the groundwork for future collaborations.
