Örebro University (ORU)

Örebro University (ORU) is one of Sweden’s most expanding universities with 15,000 students, 470 doctoral students and 1,600 employees, ranking top in terms of citations per paper (93th position according to THE list, 2023). ORU offers 80 undergraduate and master level programs with a total of 980 courses across 8 Schools. Prof. Matej Orešič, ORU’s leading partner, is a professor of medical sciences with a specialization in systems medicine and focuses on the application of metabolomics in biomedical research and integrative bioinformatics. He has been coordinator in 5 EU-funded projects, including two in Horizon Europe programme, and WP leader in 14 EU-funded projects in the last 5 years (2018-2023), including the Horizon 2020 programme EPoS and the IMI2 project LITMUS, which confirm both his excellence in applying for EU projects and his leading position in investigation of MASLD.
