We are pleased to announce the Workshop in Metagenomics: microbiome studies and metagenomics data processing, which will be held in the hybrid format, both online and in-person at IBISS (Belgrade, Serbia) from November 12-15, 2024. This four-day training consists of theoretical and practical sessions and is primarily aimed at PhD students, postdocs and young scientists interested in metagenomics.
The workshop will be led by Prof. Dr. Max Nieuwdorp and bioinformaticians dr Mark Davids and Amir Alizadeh Bahmani from Amsterdam University Medical Center. The main topics of the workshop will be:
- General introduction to the human microbiome
- 16S rRNA amplicon data processing
- Statistical analysis for microbial ecology
- Advanced metagenomics; Strain tracking & Peak to trough analysis
- Multi-omics
- Microbiome study design
- Application of metagenomics in biomedical research
