Our PhD students, Sofija Ignjatović and Miloš Vratarić, have recently completed their short-term research exchange at Amsterdam UMC.
During the visit, they worked under the guidance of Mark Davids and Amir Alizadeh Bahmani on the 16S rRNA-based metagenomic profiling of gut microbiota in the context of MASLD. The analysis included processing and interpreting sequencing data, with a focus on identifying microbial signatures associated with the disease.
This collaboration has provided valuable data and a solid basis for the next phases of the project, which will explore integrative and functional aspects of host-microbiota interactions in metabolic liver diseases.
We once again thank our colleagues at Amsterdam UMC for their professional support and look forward to continuing the collaboration.
