Within the scope of the STRIMHealth project and the activities of the IBISS Knowledge and Technology Transfer Team, the training “From Idea to Innovation: Regulatory Framework, Patent Protection and Technology Transfer” was held on 18 June 2026 at the IBISS Library.
The training was organized as part of the Work Package 5, dedicated to strengthening the innovation potential of IBISS and supporting researchers in developing an innovation-oriented mindset. The event gathered 31 researchers, who had the opportunity to learn more about intellectual property protection, the patent system, legal aspects of knowledge and technology transfer, cooperation with industry, technology transfer strategies, and the path from innovation to the market.
The lectures were delivered by experts with complementary expertise: Zorica Obradović and Jelena Tešić from the Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Serbia, Mara Janković from the law office Mikijelj Janković & Bogdanović, Dr Katarina Pavlović from Kanaka Consulting, and Anđela Terzić from the Science Technology Park Belgrade.
Through informative lectures and open discussion, participants gained practical insights into how research results can be recognized as potential innovations, protected in a timely manner, and further developed towards broader societal, clinical or market value.
This training represents an important step towards strengthening innovation awareness, knowledge transfer and translational potential within the Serbian research community and STRIMHealth WP5 activities.
