From October 16th to December 15th, three researchers from IBISS – doctoral student Sofija Ignjatović, Dr. Bojana Mićić, and Dr. Uroš Gašić – are completing a research stay at the Men-Technology-Environment (MTM) Research Centre at Örebro University in Sweden. They are working under the joint supervision of Professors Tuulia Hyötyläinen and Matej Orešič to expand their expertise in the field of metabolomics.
As part of the STRIMHealth project, this team is focused on expanding their knowledge in advanced methods for processing LC-HRMS data, with invaluable support from colleagues in Professor Hyötyläinen’s group. They are also producing the first experimental results of the project, including the lipidomic profile of patients with metabolic-associated fatty liver disease (MASLD) from Serbia. This research visit represents an important milestone for the STRIMHealth project, as it enhances the research capacity and expertise of the IBISS staff while yielding the very first experimental results of the project.
In addition to their research, the team is also experiencing Swedish culture, enjoying the pre-Christmas atmosphere and fikas, and socializing with fellow researchers from Örebro University, both within and outside Professor Hyötyläinen’s metabolomics group.
