STRIMHealth Project Presented at the 68th International Technical Fair in Belgrade

The results and achievements of the STRIMHealth project were presented at the 68th International Technical Fair, held from May 19–22, 2026, in Belgrade. Through the exhibition titled “The Science of a Healthy Liver: From Microbiota to Personalized Therapy”, visitors had the opportunity to explore how multiomics technologies and machine learning are shaping the future of medicine and contributing to the development of new approaches for the treatment of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD).
The exhibition showcased the pathway from complex biological data to concrete therapeutic solutions for fatty liver disease. The STRIMHealth team presented findings on differences in microbiota diversity and composition between individuals with and without MASLD. Particular attention was given to the predictive significance of the bacterial metabolite indole-3-carboxaldehyde, identified in individuals without MASLD. Its biological effects and therapeutic potential were further evaluated in an experimental mouse model of fatty liver disease, highlighting its relevance as a possible target for future interventions.
The exhibition also featured the innovative probiotic support for fatty liver treatment, LiverDophilus®, developed as part of the technology transfer activities of Institute for Biological Research ‘Siniša Stanković’. This probiotic represents an example of translating laboratory discoveries into practical applications with potential clinical relevance.
By combining fundamental research, advanced computational approaches, and translational medicine, the STRIMHealth project demonstrated how interdisciplinary science can contribute to the future of personalized healthcare and liver disease management.
