We are pleased to inform you that the STRIMHealth team of the Institute for Biological Research “Siniša Stanković” (IBISS), of the University of Belgrade, has become a partner of the RIA project “Investigation of endocrine-disrupting chemicals as contributors to progression of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease” (EDC-MASLD; ID: 101136259) in the framework of the Hop-On Facility call (HORIZON-WIDERA-2023-ACCESS-06).
The participation in this project, which consists of 14 partners with different expertise, will increase the networking and visibility of IBISS in HE Pillar 2, allowing better access to EU funds and more leadership roles in the consortium. This project also represent the new joint project with the STRIMHealth partner Prof. Dr. Matej Orešič from the ÖRU.
Within the EDC-MASLD project, IBISS will contribute to the investigation of causal links between exposures to endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) and health outcomes, by assessing the impact of perinatal exposure to the sex-specific susceptibility to MASLD development and progression, and investigating the underlying role of endocrine axes in the development of MASLD.
This research project represents the continuation of the IBISS team’s investigation into the development and progression of MASLD, and will maximize the impact of the STRIMHealth project, both in generating high quality new knowledge and in increasing IBISS participation and success rate in R&I projects.
